Review: "This is indeed a sweet wine. The wine also has plenty of acidity, so it has that going for it. Aromas of lemon tarts and 7-Up are a canary in the residual sugar coal mine. Flavors like lemon drop hard candies and a peach margarita continue the theme. The wine is sweet without hitting cloying territory." (wine.com Wine Enthusiast Review 89)
Wine Folly: They explain very high sweetness levels, which I definitely experienced. They describe notes of lime and green apple, which I do not get on the pallet. I did get the beeswax and honey taste as they described. It says jasmine, too, which was definitely present I just attributed that to the honey taste, but it is definitely jasmine. I did not get any petroleum smell or taste. (pg. 158)
My Review: This wine is very sweet and honey-forward. It tasted very candy-like, like candy corn almost with tropical undertones. I got lots of notes of a bright ripe peach. The acidity of this wine cuts the sweetness nicely, but it is definitely not very acidic just enough to balance the sweetness so it is not cloyingly sweet.
I did not have this with food.
